Shelter have existed since 1968 to fight and relentlessly campaign for all those whose lives are blighted by the loss of their home. Each year they give information, support, and advice to millions of people facing homelessness or experiencing bad housing situations.
Every day, Shelter Scotland strive to give people struggling with bad housing or homelessness the help they need and have a clear vision of a safe, secure, affordable home for everyone. In addition, it is a campaigning organisation with a strong voice. It has championed young people’s rights, held letting agents to account when they have illegally charged fees, lead the charge in the fight against the so called “bedroom tax” and worked closely with Police Scotland to end illegal evictions.
