Jewish Care Scotland provides innovative, individual care across all 31 health and social care partnerships in Scotland. It owns and operates a wonderful Day Care Centre in Glasgow’s Southside that allows it to deliver services in support of the vulnerable and wider Jewish community – social work support, one-off support, dispensing advice, providing long-standing care, operating a kosher food bank and running numerous special clubs.

During the past year, Jewish Care Scotland has adapted its service delivery to ensure continuity for its service users across the community. The Community and Wellbeing team are central to this as they work across community and building-based services to maximise wellbeing and cultural connections.
The Senior Support Worker will provide community engagement, as well as care and support interventions at a senior-level within the Community and Wellbeing team. They will work across any community and building-based services to maximise wellbeing & cultural connections and will also provide higher-level assessments of need and interventions when required. They will also be responsible for deputising for the Team Leader during periods of absence.
To be considered for the role of Senior Support Worker at Jewish Care Scotland, you must have the SVQ Level 3 in Social Care as a minimum (similar level qualifications will be considered). You will have supervisory experience, preferably in social care, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in social care or a support-related role and show sound knowledge of social care standards. The Senior Support Work should be comfortable working with autonomy, have a flexible approach to care provision and be able to recognise and escalate risk.
The Senior Support Worker must be confident using technology for delivery of support and work-based activity, have a driving license and access to a vehicle and be personable, approachable and motivated to make a difference to the community they serve.
