Due to an expansion of service at our Linn Moor Campus - we have on-going vacancies for Life Skills Practitoners. Our service provides support for young adults with Autism and related conditions. This 4 bedroomed house is set in the grounds of Linn Moor Campus, Peterculter. The aim of the service is to provide the tenants with quality housing, a range of meaningful daytime opportunities with outcomes of improving their life long skills which could lead to employment either paid or vocational according to the individual’s interests and skills. This approach will support the adults with an opportunity to continue their learning using a variety of approaches, raise self-esteem and confidence to live and enjoy ordinary lives.
We are looking to recruit people that will both support and work with the adults within their home, their work placements and help them to develop interests and hobbies. We also want people that can be innovative and help us to embed our approach in practice within this new service. A variety of hours are available up to full time working, you will be expected to work on a rolling rota which will include late shifts and weekend working. We are also looking for people to cover the waking night shifts.
It is helpful if you have experience of working with children / adults with autism and complex needs and be confident in working alongside them and as part of a staff team. However this is not essential as we will provide full training and support.
