Description

Harmeny Education Trust is a sector leading children’s charity, providing therapeutic care and education for children with complex additional support needs. We work with children of primary up to early secondary stage, both on a day and all-year-round residential basis. The school is situated in Balerno, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, in a beautiful thirty-five-acre estate, which includes residential and education accommodation, mature woodland, community garden, orchard, wildlife habitats, children’s play areas and a mountain bike track.

An opportunity has arisen for an Education Support Worker to join our dedicated Education Team to provide learning support and promote engagement with learning, within the classroom and other learning environments. This is a permanent post for 30.5 hours per week, term time only.

Candidates should have a willingness and ability to work with children who have additional support needs and ideally a qualification relevant to working with children.

Qualifications:          

SVQ3 in Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent is desirable

 

Salary:         

Point 13 to Point 15 (£17,240 to £17,939 pro rata)

Plus 5% Qualification Allowance, if applicable

Plus additional 5% Allowance for extra duties within residential school environment
