Camphill is a worldwide ideology dedicated to building communities where everyone can find a purpose and belonging.
The Camphill movement began in Aberdeen 80 years’ ago and has grown worldwide to be recognised as a sector leading model for care and support. In Scotland, there are 11 Camphill communities dedicated to delivering sector-leading care services to over 600 people with learning disabilities and other support needs. They cater for children, adults and older people through day-care, residential care services and schools.
Camphill Scotland is the membership body for these 11 communities and provides a unified public voice to promote the Camphill movement and have the fantastic, life-changing work they do recognised. Critical to the success of each community is the strength in the relationships they have with each other.
Building and maintaining collaboration and partnerships between the communities is the responsibility of Camphill Scotland’s Director. Alongside this, the Director presents a collective voice publically to raise awareness of each community. They also promote the Camphill brand to support each community to manage their external relationships.
Unifying the movement in Scotland, Camphill Scotland’s Director will lead the organisation into the future and help to continue their sector-leading care and approach to caring for those with learning disabilities and support needs.
If you want to take on this unique and critically important role which will spur Scotland’s Camphill communities on to the next level of service and influence, then you must be a proven leader who has a track-record of influencing and driving the strategic direction of an organisation. You will be an excellent communicator who can effectively manage stakeholders of all levels. Key to this role will be using your knowledge of current policy and legislative issues around social care, education and wider social policy. Frequent travel around all 11 sites is also required.
