Argyll and Bute TSI work with the third sector across this vast and beautiful area of Western Scotland to provide a central source of knowledge about the Third Sector locally, local and national policy and how it might affect local third sector organisations, communities and citizens, and how the third sector can contribute to those agendas.

Funded by the Scottish Government, Argyll and Bute TSI strives to ensure a strong third sector voice at a strategic level within local and national planning structures and provide leadership, vision and coordination to the local third sector to better respond to local priorities, including through partnership and collaboration.

As the voice of the third sector across Argyll and Bute, the TSI brings the sector together to fight for funding and legislation. They provide support and development which helps third sector organisations and communities across the region become more resilient and achieve their goals.

Argyll and Bute TSI continue to support the local third sector and is driving towards becoming more effective and integrated across the region. The Chief Executive Officer will lead the development and strategic direction of the TSI into the future and continually improve the service it provides.

The Chief Executive Officer will follow the Scottish Government’s (SG) TSI Outcome Framework, provide strategic leadership to ensure strong partnerships with statutory stakeholders and other key stakeholder partners and fully support and assist in strengthening the Community Planning Partnerships (CPP).

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for working collaboratively with third sector organisations in Argyll and Bute, promoting their collective interests at national and local authority levels. They will also work collaboratively with their TSI team members to provide a single senior point of strategic leadership covering management and administration of the organisation. Further responsibilities include the legal and financial health of the organisation to ensure the TSI meets all its statutory obligations as well as embedding the TSI organisational values culturally, practically and professionally.

The Chief Executive Officer will be a leader who loves to build relationships, develop new opportunities and work strategically with partners, funders and public agencies to make sure the TSI reaches its goals and serves the community.  While it will be helpful to know about or have worked in the voluntary sector, this role is open to community-minded leaders from the third, public and private sectors. It’s a great chance to get your first role managing a Scottish voluntary organisation - provided you are empathetic, dynamic, strategic and can positively influence others.
