BTA (Bruce Tait Associates) are delighted to be working with SAMH in their search for a Trusts and Foundations Executive.
Would you like to join Scotland’s national mental health charity and be part of its incredible growth and success story?
SAMH has been the voice of people most affected by mental health issues in Scotland since 1923.
The charity operates 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health, social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services among others. These services, together with its national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living inform SAMH’s important policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.
SAMH’s fundraising began in earnest in 2011 and the achievements and expansion of the charity has since been phenomenal. They are now looking for a Trusts and Foundations Executive to help continue this journey. Can you write a strong, compelling case for support that showcases the projects and services that are crucial to the well-being of Scotland’s people?
You don’t have to have a specific number of years’ trust fundraising experience – you just need to demonstrate that you are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
Ideally, we are looking for a self-starter, with a track record of developing relationships with existing trust and foundation grant makers and researching and identifying new ones. You should have experience of stewarding trust and foundation relationships, of working closely with colleagues to develop strong proposals, and a good understanding of grant-making in the UK. However, we will also consider candidates from outside the Third Sector if you can demonstrate outstanding writing skills. For example, you may have corporate bid writing experience or come from a public sector background where you are at the top of your game. SAMH offer a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave with a further 4 days public holidays, childcare voucher scheme, workplace pension etc. Mindful of their mission they also offer an extensive Employee Assistance Programme which includes a telephone and face to face counselling service.
This search is being conducted exclusively by BTA on behalf of SAMH. If you, or anyone that you know, would like to find out more about this role, please email [email protected] as soon as possible for further information prior to making your application.
