Working as part of a shift team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the children and young people and for leading and supervising the Support Workers. You will also provide support to the Service Manager in the day to day care that is provided within a residential/education setting. You will be SVQ Level III qualified in an appropriate discipline and possess (or be willing to attain) an SSSC Registration – Residential Child Care Workers with Supervisory Responsibilities. You must also be willing to work towards the Level 9 Qualification in Residential Childcare. Previous experience of working with children with learning disabilities/autism and providing support to their families is essential as is the skill to engage/relate to them and the ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour. Proven supervisory, inter-personal and communication skills are also required. You will be expected to work on a rolling rota which will include late shifts and weekend working (with free transport available for those working early/late shifts).
