Aberlour Options Lothian offers a range of short break services including residential and outreach to children and young people with significant learning/physical disabilities.
This service operates weekend respite and full time cover during the summer. Although there are a variety of shifts worked within the service there can be 12 hour day shifts, sleepovers and/or occasional 12 hour night shifts. As a relief worker you will provide cover on an as and when basis for day and/or night shifts in line with your availability.
You will provide a needs-led, person centred support to the children and young people who receive a service ensuring the highest level of physical and emotional care. You will be able to cope with all aspects of this physically demanding role. Applicants will have an understanding of and commitment to children with a learning disability.

For this service you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council, and will need to have or be prepared to gain a qualification at SCQF 7 or above (for example: SVQ3 Care plus an HNC).
