Combat Stress has been in existence since 1919 and, without doubt, provides a life-changing and, on occasion, life- saving service.
For more than a century it has provided support to veterans from every service and every conflict. On average, it takes a veteran 13 years to ask for help after leaving their job and for many, it is their darkest hour and they are in a crisis situation. Combat Stress offers specialist support to deal with mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression. It offers a range of services and therapy programmes across the UK. There is also a residential facility in Scotland where care is delivered through an expert medical and clinical team as well as 3 community teams who do outreach work.
Due to the changing landscape, the charity has revised its strategy and is undergoing an extensive modernisation programme. This will open up new possibilities for Scotland while requiring a new approach to service delivery.
Combat Stress is looking for someone who has got the skills, experience and drive to take its organisation forward in Scotland. If you have a current professional registration in mental health, have been directly involved in the delivery of high-quality services, have senior leadership experience and a deep passion for this mission, then please contact us for the candidate pack today.
