Since 1994, Start-Up Stirling has provided support to local people in need. People are referred to the charity for several different reasons but have one thing in common—they are in financial hardship and have no means to provide the basics for themselves or their family.
Over 11,000 people in the Stirling area suffer from income deprivation and the associated challenges. Start-Up Stirling works tirelessly to relieve poverty, suffering and distress experienced by people in a crisis and the charity strives to help improve quality of life. The provision of food banks in the local area that is used by over 300 people, including more than 100 children, is a lifeline to many that would otherwise go hungry. The charity also provides support services with a safe space for people to explore ways to improve their situation and get advice on money, fuel poverty, addiction and social isolation.
From their beginnings more than 25 years ago, Start-Up Stirling has continually supported those suffering deprivation in their local area. In response to social needs, the things they do have changed over the years, but unfortunately the ill effects of deprivation continue in society. To allow Start-Up Stirling to continue supporting the vulnerable and at-risk, they require an additional fundraiser to join their team and generate essential income that will be vital to their cause.
