BTA (Bruce Tait Associates) are delighted to be working with Business in the Community (BITC) in their search for a Business Development Manager, Scotland and North England.

Business in the Community is the oldest and largest business-led membership organisation dedicated to responsible business. Created by HRH The Prince of Wales it inspires, engages and challenge its membership, mobilising that collective strength as a force for good.

A key part of their success comes from building and sustaining meaningful and beneficial relationships. Can you be their Business Development Manager, acquiring and inspiring new member companies mainly across the Central Belt and Aberdeen? As a part of the business development team you will attract new members, keen to develop their own business in a way that benefits their staff and wider community. You will also support and upskill your BITC colleagues empowering them to identify leads and encourage advocacy amongst members.

You will be an active listener, able to see the opportunities and understand the priorities of the potential member. You will then use your knowledge to suggest suitable partnership opportunities with the charity. With a background in successful relationship/account management, you will no doubt be a successful communicator, tailoring your communications to each situation.

You will be experienced in generating business growth, influencing, pitching and negotiating with senior staff in in FTSE 250 or equivalent companies, able to show how these relationships have been mutually beneficial. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of issues affecting business and society and will share the values of Business in the Community, appreciating that businesses have real power to create a skilled, inclusive workforce, build thriving communities and innovate to repair and sustain our planet.

It is essential that you can self-manage, prioritise and organise your diary. Travel will play a big part in your daily routine so you must flexible, fleet of foot and used to working on the move as you will attend regular team meetings in London and Leeds.
